ABOUT THE PROGRAM

The aim of the project is encouraging initiative, creativity and active participation of youth in public and cultural life, as well as expertise-based development of our library. This will create an opportunity to broaden our cultural offer with new activities, guaranteeing growing interest in European cultural diversity – and the library – among the locals. The project enables and encourages young people to play an active role in their local communities, first in Poland, and then in their homeland. The project helps develop solidarity, tolerance and responsibility, promotes European diversity in an attractive manner, and teaches respect for it, permitting young people from different societies to carry out common actions, creating broad possibilities of intercultural learning.

ACTIVITIES

At first: lending books is not the responsibility of our volunteers!
Żory Municipal Public Library act on many fields connected with culture and education. Volunteers lead their own workshops, especially for children and youth, but also for adults. So, Żory Municipal Public Library, expect strong motivated to work, active and creative volunteers having interesting hobbies, talented in the field of art, music, dance, photography, movie-making, handicraft etc. Żory Municipal Public Library also welcome people with IT skills such as programming, 3d modeling, VR, robotics, etc. (the library is great equipped – there are robots, drons, VR google, video camera and much more, and proper software available.) Who wants can lead language lessons. If somebody has marketing or graphic designer skills they can be invited to cooperate with the marketing team!

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

Candidates must be residents of the Republic of Moldova aged between 18 and 30 and show interest and motivation to take part in the program. Priority will be given to young people interested in the field of culture and IT, as well as encouraged to apply young people who have not participated in such projects and young people living outside large centers. Candidates must have English at the communication level, so they can consult the project documentation and communicate with other program participants.

HOSTING CONDITIONS

– participants will share a good equipped apartment with 3 other participants in the city center with large living room, 3 other bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, TV and access to the internet;
– participants will receive pocket money in the amount of 4 EUR/day and money for food 120EUR/month.
– 35 hour of work per week in a dynamic cultural institution in an international team
– the costs for public transport will be covered
– participants will be reimbursed up to EUR 360 for international round trip costs
